School Information

Tokyo International Progressive School (TIPS) is an international school established to provide a safe and supportive learning environment where children with learning differences, anxiety, and other unique learning traits can learn in their own way and grow with confidence. Since its founding in 2000, TIPS has served students from Grades 4 to 12, maintaining small class sizes of no more than ten students to ensure personalized learning that meets each student’s individual needs.

Academically, the school offers a variety of programs tailored to students’ individual traits and developmental stages, including a diploma program accredited by the University of Nebraska High School (UNHS), a Certificate of Completion (COC) program, and an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program designed to strengthen English proficiency. Our school staff members includes student support coordinators, counselors, an occupational therapist, and a speech therapist who support students through both learning assistance and emotional care.

Located in the Setagaya–Futako Tamagawa area, the TIPS campus offers a calm, nature-rich environment along the Tama River, where students enjoy a relaxed and fulfilling school life. Physical Education classes take advantage of the spacious riverbanks and nearby gymnasiums.

Currently, about 65% of TIPS students hold foreign nationalities, and the student body represents more than 17 countries. Approximately 80% of graduates continue on to universities, colleges, or vocational schools in Japan and abroad, where they make use of their unique strengths and individuality.
TIPS is a warm and supportive community dedicated to nurturing each student’s potential and helping them shine in the future.

TIPS is a member of Special Education Network Inclusion Association (SENIA).
